  13 Magical Milestones - Do You Believe in Magic?
 
    Magic:

    Over the past 27 years, the College of Magic, a non-profit organisation, has touched the lives of girls and boys through innovative programmes in the art of magic. Thousands of young people, their families and communities, especially children at risk and those from marginalised backgrounds, have benefited. The organisation's projects - which address key community concerns at grassroots level - have gone from strength to strength.

    A Need:

    The College of Magic's Magical Arts Centre in Claremont, Cape Town, is bursting at the seams. There is a desperate need to consolidate and develop our physical resources:

    • Space is at a premium, with the College struggling to accommodate its current student body, project participants and visitors. 

    • While the building itself has been extensively renovated, there is still lots of restoration to be done.

    • The outstanding debt on the existing building places strain on the organisation's cash reserves.

    The Solution:

    The "13 Magical Milestones" capital fundraising campaign aims to raise R1.3 million (  approx. $186 000 US Dollars ) during 2007 and will cover the costs of:

    • The construction and furnishing of the "Imagination Centre and Secret Garden" development.

    • The necessary extensive renovations to the existing building and grounds.

    • The outstanding debt owing on the building.




    Our Appeal:

    Can you keep a secret ? We can ... slip a note - coins are noisy, spoiling the surprise - into a Secret envelope and return to the College of Magic. Your donation will be a secret between you and the auditors ( Horwath Zeller Karro ). Your envelope number will appear on this website once received and you will be updated regarding the milestones of the campaign. Don't forget to complete the "magic block" with your artistic contribution. These blocks will be used to compose a giant mosaic in the new Imagination Centre. On December 13th 2007, the total amount raised will be revealed at a glittering occasion to mark the 13th milestone.

    Remember, no one will no know the total raised until December 13th 2007 ! Can you feel the suspense ?

    Donations in excess of R1000 ( $150 ) will be be acknowledged on our Magic Wand recognition panel:

    R5000 ( $700 ) + Silver
    R20 000 ( $3000 ) + Gold
    R50 000 ( $7000 ) + Platinum
